Our client, a pan European pharmaceutical company, now has a new and interesting vacancy for a Corporate Compliance Manager reporting to the Group Company Secretary based in Runcorn.
Taking specific responsibility for a number of Corporate Governance and compliance areas, this is a group wide role and will involve you in all areas of company secretarial practice within the business.

You will be responsible for compliance with their obligations and reporting structures under the Group Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) policy, managing their commercial contract review processes (including drafting / reviewing contracts) and dealing with some areas of Governmental regulatory matters. There will be a high degree of liaison with all UK departments and external authorities at all levels.

Their ideal candidate will have a legal qualification, good working knowledge of Corporate Governance, CSR and general compliance principles. You should have proven ability to competently draft and review detailed commercial contracts. You must be able to demonstrate exceptional analytical, administrative and general management skills. Being able to communicate effectively at all levels both internally and externally will be critical to the success and development of this role. You will be expected to study for an appropriate Institute of Company Secretaries & Administrators (ICSA) professional qualification.

The hours of work are 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9.00 am to 5.15 pm with possible internal UK and European travel.

Responsibilities to include:
Organise and manage meetings (internal and external) and travel arrangements. Ensure all relevant information and documentation is available and distributed in advance of meetings. Act as key point of contact to GEC Member, attending and taking minutes for senior management meetings. Ensure that actions/issues arising from meetings are addressed in accordance with agreed target dates and to liaise with owners accordingly. Maintain an effective task list for the GEC Member and ensure tasks are completed to the relevant deadlines. Deputise for the GEC Member in their absence, making decisions and delegating work to others where it is appropriate to do so. Read, monitor and respond to the GEC Member's emails. Take ownership of communications in the absence of the GEC Member using own knowledge or referring matters to members of the management team. Co-ordinate MI documentation and distribute to relevant management teams within agreed timescales. Produce documents, briefing papers, reports and presentations as determined from time to time. Carry out projects and background research of a business and technical nature as determined from time to time. Work flexibly and effectively across teams and functions ensuring that team and business objectives are met. Flexibility around working hours, to meet the demands of the role

Key Skills and Experience:
IT literate with strong skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and use of content management tools. Previous PA experience at Board and Executive Support levels is preferred. Excellent planning and self management skills with project experience. A good communicator with excellent minute-taking and letter writing skills. Efficient, self motivated and well organised. Ability to build extensive knowledge of the organisation and use this to deal with queries expediently. Gravitas to build relationships and deal effectively with senior managers/executives across the Company. Ability to exercise sound judgement in the absence of the GEC Member. Proactive and ability to use initiative and resolve problems. Flexibility around working hours, to meet the demands of the role.
