The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Credit Controller to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the full credit control process including chasing and collecting debt, cash allocation, management of customers’ accounts, query resolution reconciliation work.

Responsible for Credit Control, the successful candidate will:

• Chase any outstanding debts via telephone, letter, email
• Monitor the returned direct debits and send new direct debit mandates
• Produce overdue debtors reports
• Liaise with solicitors regarding outstanding debts assisting with cases and settlements
• Refer debts to third party collection agents
• Complete claims forms for liquidated clients and process write offs
• Resolve customer queries with assistance from Client Relations
• Complete any court documents and attend court as and when required
• Allocate cash both manually and via bulk upload
• Post rejections to sage from BACS reports
• Production of management reports for use by Credit Manager and Financial Controller
• Responsible for temporary credit control assistants – providing training and support

The Person

• Knowledge and experience of credit control processes, procedures and reporting is essential

Dialler experience required and there is also 60% of the role which is manual tracing, investigating track down illusive debtors using excellent influencing skills. The ideal candidate must be able to display an investigative approach, show creativity in their collections, extremely proactive in their collections style and make suggestions to improve current processes.

Key areas of responsibility:

Investigative approach to track down debtors via telephone, letter, text, email, Internet, social media tools.
Tenacity and a keen eye for details is crucial
Strong negotiation technique. Displaying persuasive technique and achieve maximum payment.
Keeping level headed at all-time complying with SLA’s.
Able to work in a high pressured environment towards team and individual targets.
Must have an appetite for work volume and a hunger to succeed within a dynamic team.
Take responsibility for their workload, making suggestions to their line manager for any process improvements, showing creativity, and diversity
Display drive, enthusiasm and hunger to achieve team and personal targets
You must be able to work the following hours over a shift period to total 37.5 hours:
Monday- Thursday 8.30am - 8pm, Fridays, and 10am-4pm and every other Saturday.
