An exciting job opportunity has arisen within this busy Bar & Grill Restaurant for a talented Junior Sous Chef.

The purpose of the role is to facilitate the smooth running of The Grill; working within a team to produce food of the highest standard using fresh, locally sourced ingredients. The chosen candidate will carry out a variety of duties whilst striving to continuously improve the operational effectiveness of the department to enhance productivity and service, help to manage spend and contribute to producing a significant profit.

The ideal candidate:

- Minimum of 3 years experience working at Chef de Partie level, good all-round experience on all sections.

- Natural flair and a passion for cooking

- The chosen candidate will also have responsibility for the development of junior chefs will,

- Assisting in ensuring the business continues to develop and grow.

The ideal candidate will be able to provide evidence of:

- A working knowledge of food safety and accountability (a working knowledge and practical application of Safer Food better business systems would be an advantage)

- Teamwork

- A high standard of food preparation and presentation

- The ability to work calmly under pressure

- The following personal attributes are essential:

- Creativity and passion when it comes to food

- Resilience and the ability to perform well under pressure

- Pro-active and excellent follow through on tasks

Salary £19k - £21k live in available

The position is full time: 5 days from 7. The normal hours of work are 45 per week . Full flexibility to work weekends, public holidays, early mornings and evenings is essential to meet the commercial needs of the business.

Mainstream secondary schools in Accrington, currently have a very high demand for cover supervisors. Initially the cover supervisor positions will start on a temporary basis but for the right candidates it may become longer term. Cover Supervisor duties will include covering classes throughout the whole school across Key Stage 3 & 4. The cover supervisor classes will include all national curriculum subjects and will include GCSE classes.

The role will involve delivery of pre planned and set work by the class teacher, supervising the class, answering pupil's questions, ensuring that there is a positive learning environment for the students, taking the register and providing written feedback at the end of the class for the class teacher. Cover supervisors will be expected to be organised, have good attendance and good behaviour management skills.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a proven track record of working with the secondary age range. They will have excellent classroom management skills and this will need to be backed up by a recent reference.

Excellent communication skills are essential as is the ability to write accurate reports and manage your own changing timetable. Candidates should have a good understanding of the national curriculum and will ideally be qualified to degree level or equivalent in a core subject such as maths, English or Science. Strong ICT skills are also desirable.
